ABC gave it a big buildup the week prior to the movie, with quite a few 10 to 15 second promos mainly in the early evening and night. SOS Titanic did not disappoint me, as the first color film about the disaster, and the first major film, theatrical or television, since A Night to Remember. The current dvd for sale, if one can find it, is a heavily edited of the original program. Having seen both, the edited version is so poorly done that many scenes lack continuity and could leave some viewers scratching their head. Some stories don't even pan out correctly. I would think ABC would still own the master tapes, but thus far no company has released the full version as shown in 1979 on either VHS or DVD.
